VALORANT VAN: RESTRICTION 5: how to fix it (Memory integrity)
VAN: RESTRICTION 5 means Vanguard wants Windows' Memory integrity running before it lets you play. PCs that had tweaks or a tuned Windows often have it off. Turn it back on, restart, and you can play. This turns a Windows protection back on, so it does not lower your security.
Turn on Memory integrity
- Open Windows Security, go to Device security and press Core isolation details.
- Turn on Memory integrity.
- Restart the PC. It only starts running after a restart.
Switched on but it doesn't run
- Core isolation lists incompatible drivers: that driver blocks it. Update the driver or uninstall the program that brought it, then switch it on again.
- Windows says the PC lacks virtualization: in the BIOS turn on Intel VT x (Intel) or SVM (AMD), and NX / XD too.
- A policy turns VBS or Memory integrity off, or the hypervisor is turned off at boot. This usually comes from a tweak pack or a tuned Windows. Those values have to go before the switch stays on after a restart.
- If it turns itself off again after a restart, one of the values above is still there.
Let Savenz Optimizer show the next step
The Fixes page of Savenz Optimizer has a VALORANT VAN: RESTRICTION 5 row. It says whether Memory integrity really runs and, if not, what stops it: no restart yet, a policy that turns it off, or virtualization off in the BIOS. You can switch it on from that row. It is the same switch as on the Toggles page, and Home warns you when it is off.
