NVIDIA App won't open, There was a problem with NVIDIA App: how to fix it
If NVIDIA App says There was a problem with NVIDIA App, or nothing happens when you open it, the app itself is usually fine. NVIDIA's services are turned off. Stripped Windows builds and many tweak packs turn them off because they think they are not needed.
The services it needs
NVIDIA's own setting for both is Automatic.
- NVIDIA Display Container LS
- NVIDIA LocalSystem Container
Turn them back on yourself
- Press Win + R, type services.msc and press Enter.
- Double click NVIDIA Display Container LS, set Startup type to Automatic and press Start.
- Do the same for NVIDIA LocalSystem Container.
- Open NVIDIA App again. If it shows the same message, restart the PC.
Can't find the services at all
If these two are not in Services, they were deleted and cannot be turned back on. Download the graphics driver from nvidia.com and install it again as a clean install, and the services come back with it. See the guide on a clean install of the graphics driver.
Turning them off gives no FPS
NVIDIA's services are what NVIDIA App and the driver's settings need. Turning them off does not give the FPS people claim, it only stops you from setting up the card and updating the driver in NVIDIA App.
Let Savenz Optimizer fix it
The Fixes page of Savenz Optimizer has NVIDIA App won't open. It shows which service is off, and Fix it turns both back on and starts them. If the services were deleted, it tells you to install the driver again as a clean install. Still won't open? Ask in the Discord.
